The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) issued BAA #08-01 to solicit proposals for Long Range Science and Technology Projects and innovative prototypes which offer potential for advancement and improvement of homeland security missions and operations. Topical areas of strategic interest include Explosives; Chemical and Biological; Border and Maritime Security; Command, Control, and Interoperability; Human Factors; and Infrastructure Protection. DHS has emphasized that proposals in these areas much show future promise for the mission and operational relevance and to the greatest extent be demonstrable in a relevant homeland security environment.
